Parents/Guardians:
Dartmouth High is excited to share that we are hosting our first school-wide “Cultivating Peace” conference on Friday, December 8. In partnership with the school community, this conference will cover a wide range of topics/themes centred around peace in all aspects of life, i.e. Peace with Self, Peace with Others and Peace with the Environment. We are hoping to develop or enhance skills in our students to help them navigate their way through difficult times.
As part of McDonald’s Grand Reopening of their Nantucket restaurant, they have decided to fundraise for two of their favourite community groups: Dartmouth High School and the Halifax & Region Military Family Resource Centre! McDonald’s has been a longstanding community partner who continues to contribute to our Breakfast program and other school extracurricular activities.
For Dartmouth High School, McDonald’s plans on donating $1.00 from every Large and X-Large coffee sold at Nantucket, from October 24 - November 1st. Families are encouraged to support this endeavour as the money raised will help to cover costs associated with our Cultivating Peace Conference. Please encourage other family members, neighbours or friends to buy a Large or X-Large coffee from October 24 – November 01.
We are anticipating that McDonald’s will present the raised funds via a cheque on their VIP Night, scheduled to take place, on November 1st, from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Stay tuned for more info about our Cultivating Peace Conference.
