The Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) invites ambitious women-identified individuals, including two-spirit, transgender and non-binary high-school students who are curious about entrepreneurship, technology, or science-based innovation, to apply for the opportunity to observe one of our high-impact venture sessions. Each student will have the opportunity to learn, in a hands-on way, about the world of science and technology-based entrepreneurship. Accepted students are invited to attend one of the CDL’s Session days, where they are matched with a CDL Fellow or Associate (their mentor) whom they will shadow for the day. Mentors include John Risley (Chairman & CEO, Clearwater Fine Foods Inc. ), Shelley King (CEO, Natural Products Canada), Carolyn O’Keefe (Owner, Thinkwell Research + Strategy) and others. In addition, students accepted into the program will have the opportunity to attend an online educational module specializing in cancer.
The application to the program will be made by filling out this form: https://bit.ly/apprentice-program
Please find the attached document with more information about the program and the upcoming session to share with interested students: CDL-Atlantic Apprentice Program
We will be hosting one in-person session on May 15, 2024, and we have five openings available. The session will be held at the Kenneth C. Rowe Management Bldg, 6100 University Ave, Halifax, NS.
If you or a student you know would like to see what past participants have to say about the program, please read one of these blog posts:
- Session 1: My Amazing Mentorship Experience At CDL & What I Learned From Top Tech Entrepreneurs by Riya, who spent a day shadowing Dan Debow, founder of Rypple, Workbrain, and Helpful.ai
- The real key to creating a high-impact business - CDL Reflection by Ananya, who shadowed Ken Nickerson, CEO of ibinary and Board Member at OMERS Ventures
For more information about CDL, Sean Silcoff of the Globe and Mail wrote a detailed cover story about the program and its recent expansion titled Billion Dollar Breakout in March 2017.
Please share this opportunity with other educators or directly with students that you believe would benefit from the program.
If you have any questions feel free to send me an email.
